Crime is one of the key problems that affect people's quality of life. What if we know who is likely to commit a crime or which area potentially has a higher crime rate? Here we use a few Machine Learning and Statistical techniques to analyze and predict crime rate in U.S. cities.

One of the main issues that we are trying to address is how to utilize the the open data to quantitatively analyze the factors which could potentially impact on our predictive models. Our challenges including

  1. What are the core factors that determines the crime rate in a certain U.S. community?
  2. Which machine learning approach should we use to train our model?
  3. How can we tell our trained model performs well?
